Chamber Ensemble Commission Application 2021

Applications are now being accepted for the 17th annual Utah Arts Festival Commission for Chamber Ensemble, to premiere at the 2022 Utah Arts Festival.

The 2022 call for entry seeks one composer who identifies as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) of any age based in the U.S. to write a new work that will make its debut to audiences at the 2022 Utah Arts Festival. The theme of the project is race and representation and its impact in the field of classical music. The completed commissioned work will be 8-12 minutes in length, and work for six-piece chamber ensemble as follows: 1 Flute (doubling Piccolo), 1 Clarinet (doubling Bass Clarinet), 1 Percussionist, 1 Piano, 1 Violin, 1 Cello

Award Amount: $3,000

Deadline for Submission is July 30, 2021.
The awarded composer will be announced by September 1, 2021.

Thanks to the support of the Leroy Robertson Foundation, no application fee will be charged for 2022 applications.
