COVID Precautions

As we welcome Festival goers back to the Utah Arts Festival in person, here are some precautions and recommendations in response to COVID:

  • Per an executive order from SLC Mayor Erin Mendenhall, masks are to be worn in SLC owned facilities, including the City Library and The Leonardo. Some UAF programming will take place in these spaces so please plan accordingly if you are interested in participating.
  • Masks are not required, but are strongly encouraged for those who have not been fully vaccinated or who have been exposed to COVID-19 recently, or who are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test. Additional guidance from the CDC on wearing masks can be found here.
  • We request that anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID do not enter the grounds. This includes participating artists, vendors, sponsors, staff, and volunteers. Symptom lists will be posted at each entrance. You can also find the information outlined by the CDC here.
  • Physical distancing will be actively encouraged on the Festival grounds for everyone’s safety. We will be monitoring the venue capacity to help ensure everyone can maintain a 3 to 6 feet of distance between people who don’t live in your household. Keeping distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
  • Booths in the Artist Marketplace have been intentionally spaced 10’ apart to allow for distancing.
  • Disposable masks will be available at box offices and the information booth for patrons as well as at volunteer check-in. Gloves will also be available for event staff and volunteers. Quantities are limited so we encourage everyone to be prepared and keep a mask with them while attending or participating in the Utah Arts Festival.
  • We will increase sanitizing protocols for public use areas as well as the number of stand-alone hand sanitizing stations throughout the Festival.
  • Our VIP Patios for donors and sponsors will utilize a more “grab-and-go” approach with individually wrapped options and utensils.
  • We now offer the opportunity to purchase general admission tickets online that are delivered straight to your phone or inbox for a contactless ticket experience.
  • Beverage booths managed by the Utah Arts Festival will offer contactless payment options using a credit or debit card.
  • Nomi Health will be on-site providing a free vaccination clinic to patrons who are interested on Friday, August 27th from 12pm to 8pm and Saturday, August 28th from 1pm to 8pm. The clinic will be located next to our First Aid booth, located on the north side The Leonardo.
