The Utah Arts Festival takes safety and security very seriously.
Our security planning process begins months before the event takes place and is ongoing. In collaboration with our security firm, we work to stay current with and put into place the security industry’s best practices. Part of that process is monitoring current events and continuing to evaluate any necessary changes and improvements to our safety and security plans in consultation with the Salt Lake City Police Department and other law enforcement agencies who are involved in helping to protect our event.
As a ticketed and gated event, all people who enter the Festival grounds are screened and monitored. In light of recent events in the area, the Festival will be implementing enhanced security measures to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
These measures include:
1. Increased security personnel at entrances and throughout the Festival venue.
2. Wanding and enhanced bag checks at all entry points. To expedite this process, we recommend limiting what you bring to small bags or fanny packs. Clear bags are requested and recommended for faster entry. All attendees are encouraged to arrive early to allow for the security screening process, particularly for large bags.
3. Continued collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency services to help ensure the security industry's best practices are in place and being utilized.
The Utah Arts Festival organizers appreciate the cooperation in providing a safe environment for all attendees.
