Michael McLane is the director of the Center for the Book at Utah Humanities and the director of the Utah Humanities Book Festival. He holds masters degress in Environmental Humanities from University of Utah and creative writing from Colorado State University. McLane is an editor with the literary journals saltfront: studies in human habit(at) and Sugar House Review. He is the author of the chapbook Trace Elements and his work has appeared in numerous journals, including High Country News, Dark Mountain, Colorado Review, Laurel Review, Catalyst, and Interim.
