Darius Atefat-Peckham, a 2018 National Student Poet appointed at the Library of Congress, will present a poetry workshop. Atefat-Peckham is a graduating high school senior at Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, MI, and an Iranian-American poet and essayist. At Interlochen, he has served on the editorial team for the literary magazines The Red Wheelbarrow and Interlochen Review. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Texas Review, Brevity, Rattle, and elsewhere.

Workshop: The Writing of Delight?

This workshop will explore the concurrence of grief and joy in literature and in life. Participants will ask where grief and joy come from, and how we can complicate those feelings and allow it to infect our writing.
